The Fused Glass Making Process (the basics)
Step 1: Design Begins
Each participant receives a clear glass base along with a curated assortment of colorful mosaic and bubble glass pieces to choose from.
Step 2: Create Your Design
Select and arrange your glass pieces on top of the base to create your unique design. Once you’re happy with the layout, a small amount of Elmer’s liquid glue is used to gently secure the pieces in place.
Step 3: Into the Kiln
Finished projects are either collected or shipped back to our studio to be kiln-fired. The glass is heated to over 1,400°F, where the layers fuse together into one solid piece. The firing and controlled cooling process takes approximately 24 hours to ensure strength, durability, and a smooth finish.
Step 4: Finished & Delivered
After cooling, each piece is carefully inspected, packaged, and delivered or shipped back to you — transformed into a beautifully fused, lasting work of art.

Participants in 4th grade or higher often need little supervision to complete a project. Younger ages require more supervision, but all school-age participants have enjoyed the projects. See below some recent examples.
All projects are also great for Family Education Programs where parents are present to help.

We always provide a short lesson on the materials, safety and project completion.
We can also teach religious/spiritual lessons that connect to the project. See below for some ideas:

Most of our projects can be completed in under an hour, including a brief lesson. While some participants may finish sooner than others, we’ve found that many enjoy taking their time to explore colors and create their own unique designs.
