Important Notes (Please Read)
This is an authentic off-grid experience with some considerations:

  • The electrical system is solar-powered with a backup generator that should activate automatically when needed. However, the use of too much power at one time will overwhelm the system and it will shut off. If the generator doesn't kick on automatically, you will need to manually turn on the generator. We will provide detailed instructions, however please note that if you are unable to turn it on, you will not have the ability to contact us as you will be truly off grid with no WiFi and cell phone service. We ask that you do your best to conserve electricity by using as little as possible at one time to avoid this outcome if this is a concern to you.

  • There is satellite internet and WiFi is provided, although not guaranteed. You can make WiFi phone calls and use most services as normal. However, it is not always stable and things like weather can and does affect the service speed. In the case of an outage, you will not be accessible. Cell phone signals depend on your service provider. Most will require a short drive to the main road in Salisbury.

  • There is no air conditioning available. A fan is provided and the cabin stays pretty cool.

  • The heater and wood burning stove provide more than enough heat for even the coldest nights. We do not provide firewood, but have some available for a small fee. There are also roadside stops and stores throughout the area where you can buy firewood.

  • We provide a pour-over coffee pot, coffee grinds, and filters.

  • Guests are responsible for removing their own garbage upon departure.

  • The property may have tall grass depending on the season.

  • The road to the property may not be accessible in the winter due to snow. 4WD or AWD is required if visiting in the winter.
